LumbiniLumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the apostle of peace, compassion and non-violence. It is situated in the western Tarai of Nepal. The broken Ashokan Pillar, remanants of an old monastery, Images of Buddha's mother Maya Devi, etc are still preserved here. Extensive excavation work is being carried out with promising results. It is accessible by air from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa, from where one proceeds by car, or use some other mode of transport.

There is hardly a day or a place where one cannot see the enactment of some celebration however small. In Nepal You will find exquisite Hindu and Buddhist architecture and artistic embellishment of pagodas that enshrine bronze and stone images of great beauty and antiquity.
